Inspired by the classic sound of Herb Alpert, Mancini and countless tv and film music, the Tikiyaki Orchestra take their love for that amazing lounge and e-z listening sound of the mid 1960’s and cast their own spell on it, with catchy melodies, danceable rhythms, and a fun, upbeat vibe.

This debut single, “Weekend in Waikiki” is yet another new "swingin’ sound for the Jungle Jetset” (that’s YOU people) , with an infectious melody, fun danceable swingin' beat, and the smooth, yet majestic sound of brass taking the front seat. Breezy, infectious…a damn good time !

Backed with “The Pineapple-Upside-Down”, with it’s slight nods to the Beatles, and that magic of 60’s AM radio pop , this new Tikiyaki sound will be a perfect soundtrack for a top down cruise along the ocean, pool party, or summer backyard Luau.

Fear not , the classic exotica sound of The Tikiyaki Orchestra you know and love, is not changing...we’re just introducing another new and exciting facet to the already diverse style of the group.

This debut single gives you a little taste, and a new album will follow, which will include some Tikiyaki Orchestra lounge classics, reimagined with brass, and new original songs featuring this great new sound.....

Tikiyaki Orchestra's "A Spy Medley" has been a staple of the band's live shows for many years. Classic themes from films and tv, like "Pink Panther", "Get Smart", "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Mission Impossible" are "all neatly segued and rolled up into one amazing cluster of themes.
"A Space Medley" takes the theme of Space and runs amok, with everything from "The Imperial March" from Star Wars to Bowie's Space Oddity" and Deep Purple's "Space Truckin'" to the themes from "Star Trek" and "Lost in Space", constantly changing gears, from bombastic orchestral surf, to ethereal and otherworldly and everything in between.
